2. About AECAS

The Association of Engineering Construction and Architecture Students (AECAS) is a student organization at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK). Our mission is to unite students in Engineering and the Built Environment, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration that bridges academic learning with practical industry experience.

3. Membership

3.1 Eligibility

• Student Members: Current students of TUK enrolled in engineering, construction, or architecture programs
• Associate Members: Non-TUK students or professionals with interest in engineering and architecture

3.2 Registration

To become a member, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Pay the applicable registration fee
• Agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy

3.3 Membership Fees

• Student membership: KSh 200
• Associate membership: KSh 500

Fees are non-refundable once payment is confirmed.

4. Member Conduct

As a member, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information during registration
• Maintain respectful communication with other members and leadership
• Not misuse or share your membership credentials
• Comply with TUK regulations and Kenyan law
• Not engage in any activity that could harm AECAS's reputation

5. Events and Activities

AECAS organizes various events including site visits, workshops, and networking sessions. By participating:

• You agree to follow safety guidelines and instructions
• You acknowledge that some activities may involve inherent risks
• You consent to photographs/videos being taken for AECAS promotional purposes
• You are responsible for your own transportation unless otherwise specified

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the AECAS website, including logos, text, images, and design, is the property of AECAS or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

7. Website Use

You agree not to:

• Use the website for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the website
• Upload malicious code or content
• Collect information about other users without consent

8. Limitation of Liability

AECAS provides its services "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the membership fee you paid
• We are not responsible for third-party content or services

9. Termination

AECAS reserves the right to terminate or suspend your membership if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Provide false information during registration
• Engage in conduct harmful to AECAS or its members
• Fail to pay applicable fees

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms shall be:

• First attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation
• If unresolved, submitted to mediation
• Governed by the laws of Kenya
• Subject to the jurisdiction of Kenyan courts

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify members of significant changes via email or website announcement. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
